About Slate
Slate is a natural stone that comes in several different textures, such as a smooth or cleft (rough) finish. It is a waterproof, stain-resistant natural stone and a beautiful flooring material. Slate can scratch or chip more easily than other natural stone. Aggressive cleaning and the build up of heavy waxes, floor finishes, or soap residue may cause slate floors to become dull and dingy.

Caring for Slate
Sweep or dust mop your floors regularly to remove anything that can get ground into the surface. Use only recommended cleaning products.
